First Barbie of this Spring
Am Samstag, den Abend vor der Umstellung auf Sommerzeit hatten wir mit Mark das erste Barbecue in diesem Frühling – keine Angst, das Lamm stand nicht auf dem Speiseplan! Ich hab die Salate gemacht, selbst geschredderten Cole Slaw und deutschen Nudelsalat.
This Saturday, before Daylight Savings, we had our first barbie with Mark – no worries, the pet lamb was not involved. I delivered homemade salads: Cole Slaw and German pasta salad

My co-workers are enthusiastic about the Rugby World Cup and they showed full commitment to the All Blacks on our All Blacks Friday!
I had my first white bait fritters and they were yummy!

Wir sind den Weg von Southlands Küste rauf nach Queenstown schon so oft gefahren, aber an der Landschaft können wir uns trotzdem nicht sattsehen. Gibt es einen schöneren Weg zum Flughafen? Und dann auch noch das Wunder der Geburt am Wegesrand!

First surf of this spring – beautiful weather and later people were watching the sunset at Oreti beach as if it was a drive-in theatre
Erster Surf des Frühlings – tolles Wetter und später lief im „Oreti beach Autokino“ ein schöner Sonnenuntergang – von Invercargill aus sind es nur 10 Minuten bis zum Strand, der mit Autos befahrbar ist, und so kann man ganz chillig den sonnigen Tag ausklingen lassen. Und ist im Auto vor Sandflies geschützt!

A truly new experience for Natalie: Authentic German Kaffeeklatsch in Southland and cuddling with cute orphaned lambs – Thanks heaps to lovely Jule for a wonderful Sunday afternoon!

Yes, we borrow the cliché, but our very first spring in Southland presents itself with rough weather, cute lambs, blooming gorse and dogs on a pick up truck. Sorrow for low quality mobile phone photos.
Auch wenn wir hier Klischees bedienen, so sieht unser erster Frühling in Southland nun mal aus: ungemütliches Wetter, süße Lämmer, blühender Ginster und Hund auffen Pick up Truck. Leider nur Handyphotos

Shitty weather, no surf
Stormy weather with rain showers and shitty waves prevented us from surfing – we went to lovely Mrs Clark’s Café instead. Natalie was unhappy though.
Kein surf am Samstag wegen Sturm und kack Wellen – also haben wir Mrs Clark’s Café einen Besuch abgestattet. Natalie wär trotzdem lieber surfen gegangen!
